GetResponse Review – all you need to know

getresponse review

It can be very hard for a business, especially a newly established one, to generate more leads and customers without investing a lot of money. But sometimes using the right software has the potential to save a huge marketing expense, while also delivering amazing results. And that’s what GetResponse strives to provide to every customer. But is this email marketing software worth the purchase or not? Let’s find out in this GetResponse review!

What is GetResponse?

GetResponse is an email marketing software solution. As you will see from this GetResponse review, it was created to cover a variety of email marketing tasks, such as automating emails to subscribers via the use of autoresponders. It also allows you to view as well as analyze statistics related to the email marketing campaign. With GetResponse you can create a newsletter and also import as well as host a mailing list and capture data in no time.

Pricing and plans

They have 3main pricing categories, which are email, pro and max. Email is the cheapest, and you will pay anywhere from $15 to $450 for 1000-100000 subscribers, $49-490 for Pro or $165 to $580 for the same amount of subscribers if you have Max. They also have an enterprise plan that goes for $1199 per month, and this one can be customized according to your needs.

If you are on free or Email you will get to create your own database, access templates, perform split testing, access reports, RSS to email, social sharing tools, comprehensive segmentation, responsive designs and so on. For Pro and upwards you will have CRM tools, landing pages, webinars, multiple users per account and e-commerce support.

Is it the best autoresponder?

A lot of people recommend GetResponse saying this is the best autoresponder. This tool does allow you to send a newsletter to subscribers. It makes it easy for you to send action or time-based messages triggered by birthdays, user data changes or contact preference changes, subscriptions, clicks, opens and so on.

GetResponse also has a marketing automation function here that makes it easy for you to create automated workflows via drag and drop. You get to customize the user experience and make it more comprehensive and interesting. Customers rarely get this type of feature, and that on its own makes it stand out.

Analytics

GetResponse allows you to acquire a lot of information from this tool. They have one-click segmentation, email ROI, per-user information, metrics over time and so on. The addition of pie charts and comprehensive data and information helps you a lot because you can study and handle reports at your own pace.

Another great thing about GetResponse is that it offers great split testing. It gives you support for up to 5 messages as a split test, where the competition barely gives you 2-3 or no split testing at all.

Email marketing templates

When you have a large company, and you’re really busy, the last thing you want is to waste time creating your own messages with graphics and so on. You can focus on the marketing message and writing, whereas GetResponse will give you more than 500 customizable templates. You can modify images, layouts, and fonts too. Some of them are great, others less so, but there’s something for everyone in there. We do like the fact that all the designs and templates are created with a responsive approach in mind. You even have a mobile preview for every design and template.

Landing page creation and webinars

The benefit of GetResponse is also the fact that you get to create landing pages. You do need to have a Pro membership in order to A/B test this or have more than 1000 views per month for it. The same thing happens if you want to create more than a landing page.

Webinars are a new feature and they do allow you to acquire emails and generate leads. You can have up to 100 people in the webinar for the Pro version, for Max you can go up to 500 people. Setting up and starting the webinar is easy, and overall this is a user-friendly experience with pretty impressive results and experiences.

Interface

After studying the interface during this GetResponse review, we noticed that they deliver all the features and quality you want in a comprehensive package. You can create campaigns, set up your own autoresponder, study various statistics and important contacts or keep a database within the app without a problem. The drag and drop approach does feel a bit clunky, it can become a bit more natural. But it can totally pay off if you get used to it and continue to work with it again and again.

Support

When you use a tool like this, you do need to rely on things like customer support quite a bit. GetResponse doesn’t have any phone support, it was discontinued. However, you do get email support and live chat. And this is still ok because the response times we got during the GetResponse review process were pretty good. They reply within a minute, and any issue you have will be solved in 5 minutes or a bit more if it’s complex. The company also has some dedicated resources on the website, an FAQ and other great stuff that you can access in order to improve your experience.

Pros

  • Great marketing automation feature
  • You can try it for 30 days to see if it suits your needs
  • Affordable and discounted rather often
  • Data segmentation split testing features
  • Intuitive interface, great reporting features
  • 500+ templates to choose from

Cons

  • CRM functionality needs improvements
  • No DKIM authentication unless you get the MAX plan
  • No phone support
  • The pricing structure can be a bit confusing.

GetResponse Review – Conclusion

Is GetResponse worth your time and money? That depends on what you expect from it and what you need from a solution like this. If you want a good marketing automation tool with lots of templates, it can be a great tool for you. At the same time, GetResponse is more affordable when compared to similar solutions and super customizable.
